The company
Circooltura (IT/CH)
Co-founder of Circooltura, the actor and contemporary circus artist Emanuele Occhipinti excels in the art of the Cyr wheel. Trained in Italy and Spain, he captivates audiences with precise and graceful movements, subtle layers of meaning and a natural sense of comedy. His recent performances include the hilarious porter in Guglielmo Hotel, and the grumpy old man in Una tavola calda.
The show
Il cielo in una gabbia
A playful, poetic and thought-provoking performance where the circus arts meet the unconscious. Through the metaphor of the cage, it explores how difficult it can be to leave behind our certainties, leaving us with a lingering question: when the cage opens, are we truly ready to fly? Original music composed by trumpeter and multi-instrumentalist Elia Conti accompanies the Cyr wheel sequences, bringing past and future memories back to the surface.
