Spazio TEV
Centre of performing arts
Spazio TEV was founded in 2021 with the intention to realise a “concrete utopia” by transforming an area that once served as a farm, car deposit and garage into a space for performing arts.
A space dedicated to theatre, dance, music, contemporary circus, video art and visual arts; a creative workshop hosting experimental and original art projects, environmental education programmes, exhibitions and installations, conferences, lectures and book presentations, as well as workshops on set design and training in various performing and non-performing artistic disciplines.
The space
It furthermore hosts productions and co-productions in collaboration with international and local professionals from the field of the performing arts, cultural operators and associations based in the city of Sassari and in Sardinia. These collaborations aim at fostering dialogue, exchange and inclusion.
Its foremost intention is to become a cultural hub open to exchange and accessible to the local community as a public space as well as a focal point for festivals and travelling exhibitions, networking with similar organisations in Italy, Europe and around the world.
Spazio TEV carries out an eco-friendly project by planting trees, local vegetable, fruit and herb crops together with local experts who are active in environmental regeneration.
The site includes a 3,000 m² wide courtyard and 730 m² of partially refurbished buildings, which are currently undergoing renovation work, which takes the original character of the structures into consideration and includes the transformation to sustainable energy.
